The Celtic Orthodox Church has always recognized same-gender marriages, since the birth of Christianity in the Celtic Isles (before Patrick came to Ireland), as it is our belief that a marriage is the joining of two souls, and not the physical bodies (thus the term soul-mate). (Since the soul is a being of pure spiritual energy, it therefor has no gender, so the physical body is irrelevant.) As such, as long as true love is present, the physical body (male/male, male/female, female/female, etc.) is of no importance.
After all, as the Holy Texts state, "All Love is of GOD". (In Irish: "Is ó Dhia gach grá".
