Your wedding vows are the reason for all the hoopla, excitement and preparation. They should be among the high points of your wedding day for they tell the world you are not two people, but now one. 

Performing a wedding requires presence, reverence and experience. You do not casually read words; you must stir up emotions among the couple and those in attendance. It becomes a joyous communal affair between those being united and the guests; all must be in accord and celebrate the miracle of love they are witness to.

The weddings I perform require hours of writing and effort on my part but it is well worth it. Because every couple is unique, so is each of my wedding ceremonies. I include the guests because they were invited to be participants, not just to dine and dance. When family members compliment me after a ceremony, I am humbled but feel my job was well done. The New York Times, who never mentions officiants, quoted me each time they covered a wedding I performed.
