Rabbi Alan Shavit-Lonstein, at By The Rivers, is committed to helping couples create personal, meaningful ceremonies for weddings and other lifecycle moments which celebrate individuals and honor diverse traditions.
We are available for premarital counseling with trained facilitatosr using the Prepare/Enrich program. All couples are welcome: multi-faith, GLBTQIA+, agnostic, second or already married.

Our approach to weddings is best understood with a story Jo and James had met months before contacting one of our clergy or a wedding ceremony. Their Relationship was still new, and they were interested in deepening their commitment with no pressure. Coming from different religious traditions (one Jewish, one Christian), neither felt fully at home in each others house of worship, yet each were committed to their own beliefs.
