At Dance! Eclectic we dance and teach partnered social dancing -- dancing just for the fun of it -- perfect for your wedding and after! This is the kind of dancing you see at weddings, celebrations and festivals -- in pubs, clubs and bars, in dance halls, community centers, in parks and on boardwalks -- winter and summer, for any reason or no reason. Styles include swing, waltz, foxtrot, blues, two step, salsa, cha-cha, and more.
We believe there are many "right" ways to dance, within some parameters that make moving together to music work for the dancers. We teach our students to dance with each other, not into each other.
We teach the language, the feel (and the secrets), of dancing with a partner -- giving you vocabulary and moves to play with each other, play with the music, play with the dance, make it your own -- a glorious conversation between two kindred spirits that is unique in the moment and will never happen in exactly the same way again.
Any dancer can find this kind of feeling on the dance floor -- from absolute beginners to the most experienced. It's all in how you approach it.
Teaching people to dance is inherently happy work -- (if you can even call it work).
Dance! Eclectic (Linda) IS THE BEST. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Linda is an amazing dance instructor and a wonderful person. She is an excellent teacher - she's very knowledgeable, patient, and just lovely! My husband and I signed up for 3 private lessons with her in advance of our wedding. My husband and I have 4 left feet but Linda gave us great encouragement and excellent instruction.
Linda IS THE BEST. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. / Y.W.Linda is a great instructor and just a generally nice person all around. We had essentially zero experience coming into the lessons (we had a few private lessons) but she put up with our shenanigans and helped us successfully navigate our wedding dance (which for us was a bit nerve-racking). She had a really great sense for where to push on us, but also eased up when we were clearly struggling. Definitely recommend!
Definitely recommend! / KyleLinda quickly assessed our needs, and helped my daughter and I (father of the bride wedding dance) greatly improve our (mostly dads) dance skills in a limited amount of time. Linda was a pleasure to work with!
father - daughter dance / BradMy fiance and I recieved dance lessons (singletime swing) at Dance Eclectic as a gift from my brother for Christmas. We really enjoyed the class (which was often nearly a private lesson) and we came out with a good understanding of the basics as well as a few sweet looking turns and footwork. Overall, very highly recommended.
Great Instruction -- lots of individual attention / Susan O.I was probably the WORST student any dance instructor could run into. I was totally overwhelmed with the wedding and I'm generally a really anxious person. At our first lesson, I froze and almost burst into tears before the music even came on. Linda rolled with it. And after a remarkably short period time, my fiance and I were dancing. The wedding was wonderful. I danced happily in front of everyone. There are even pictures I'm not embarrassed of
I was probably the WORST student / CalieLinda was just wonderful! Amazing how much she could teach us in just an hour! I also liked that she brought up questions that we didn't even think about and helped us think through them. We feel a lot more confident and comfortable for our first dance!
More confident after only 1 lesson / BogdanMy husband and I loved working with Linda to prepare for the first dance at our wedding! She embodies that rare combination of being a gifted and inspirational teacher + a pure joy to be around. When we started, we had no absolutely clue how to dance and worried about our first dance for MONTHS... but under Linda's joy-filled and gentle guidance, we learned how to dance (and felt great doing it!) We got compliments on our first dance!
Our dance lessons are a favorite memory / Chris & AlexLinda is a wonderfully patient and fun dance instructor. Her lightheartedness is infectious. I think she could teach an elephant how to glide on the dance floor.
She could teach an elephant / Mea & BillLinda does a great job of looking at your natural dance style and working with both your weaknesses and strengths.
She taught to our natural dance style / AliDear Linda, Years ago my swim instructor had a reputation that he could teach rocks how to swim. We are truly blessed that you taught this rock how to dance. Thank you so much for your time and for allowing our wedding to be so special. We will never forget how wonderful the journey has been!
Thanks for teaching this Rock to dance / Dan and SarahIt was an honor and privilege to help you two create your first dance for your wedding, Bushra. You both clearly have natural dancing ability, and your dance turned out so beautifully, I hope you keep dancing!
Thank you so much Natalie. It was such a pleasure to work with the two of you, and a privilege to help you find a first dance that was uniquely yours. May you have many hours of fun dancing together -- maybe even in your kitchen! -- over the years.
Thank you, Raymond, for your kind words. You and Brad were so great to dance with! You two truly did go from "0 to 60" in only one lesson! And getting to see you dance on your video was wonderful -- Bravo!
