RWN's office, for 20 years, was based in Asheville NC.  We understand the impact of a storm like Helene and our thoughts are with those affected by the recent hurricane, throughout the Southeast and beyond.

Thanks to those who are finding ways to assist those affected:  from those who are still dealing with flooding issues, to those who have lost their loved ones, those who have lost their homes or livelihoods... and even to those whose wedding venue was impacted and therefore are dealing with issues surrounding their celebrations.  The impact has effects large and small, unthinkable and rather simple, very long-term and also those in the most immediate sense...  Again, our thanks to those who are finding ways to assist everyone in the area who has been impacted.

One important way each of us can take action, of course, is to remember important and grave moments like this when we consider our options about voting.  The flood our team at RainbowWeddingNetwork dealt with in 2004, when our office was lost that year due to a hurricane, brought the rise of our local river up 9 feet.  Helene brought the water level of that same river up 20 feet.  The storms today are more powerful, more disastrous, more deadly.

The water temperature in the southern Atlantic Ocean is measurable, and that temperature is rising:  the results are measurable too.

The issues surrounding climate change are something we can take into account at the ballot box.  We, the founders of RWN, encourage all of our site visitors to reesearch these issues, and similar important issues that matter personally to you, and make your voting decisions -up and down the ballot- based on the factual information you yourself have discovered through your research, so that all of us can take action toward a safer future together.
