Less than a two hour drive west from Seattle, nestled in the Dungeness river delta just north of Sequim lies one of the Pacific Northwest’s hidden jewels. It’s a magical garden oasis midst a myriad of picturesque settings. Bordered by the magnificent Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca this is the perfect destination for any wedding or commitment. Fields of wildflowers stretch through what seems like an eternity of color and fragrant indulgence. There is no better way to celebrate your commitment than wading with your partner into a meadow of wildflowers to create a ceremony that is uniquely your own.

With The Cutting Garden, Tom and Catherine Mix have made the process of floral selection an adventure that can involve the entire wedding party. From June through September guests can wander in seven days a week throughout the daylight hours to select and cut bouquets perfect for any occasion. The 20-acre farm is adorned with hundreds of varieties of dahlias and dozens of varieties of annual and perennial flowering plants. Among the most popular is the lavender which is perfectly suited to the local climate.

From expansive self-serve florist to picturesque ceremony location, The Cutting Garden is truly a Wedding day paradise.

garlands or greens,” states Ory. “They enter a candle-lit reception room,
every centerpiece individually spotlighted to bring out the rich colors of

For Carrie Hett of Atlanta based Bridal Blooms, it’s about artistic expression. Her inspiration is each couples’ unique love story and her medium is flowers. The product of an evolution of her love of the arts, Carrie’s pure talent is conveyed in each new creation she makes. "I smile from the inside and out when I'm designing a wedding bouquet or an elaborate centerpiece. I consider myself blessed to work in a field I love," states Carrie. Her passion resonates throughout her work from bouquets of pink parrot tulips to mango callas and curly willow. As for a signature piece Carrie states, “Nobody should be that rigid. I find that evolving and adapting gets one further. I am sure other designers or friends might say, ‘Oh I know who did that.’ Most designers have a certain trademark to their work. I'm sure I have a style, but I try to stay fresh and current without losing that classic look.”

“What distinguishes us is the way we work with people…” remarks
Joanne Fiore. In the floral business for 12 years, she and Sister Diane
Peoples “decided to branch out and offer a more personalized service
where we could indulge our passion for design.”
Thus Fresh Event Design was born.

For this duo it’s about communication, listening to the ideas of each client
rather than providing a cookie cutter solution to event design. From a topiary
arrangement formed from 10 dozen fat, lush roses to the integration of
matching accents in each aspect of both the ceremony and reception,
Fresh Event Design provides a “Fresh” new take on traditional event florals.

Subtle nuances are at the heart of what makes each Ultimate Floral creation unique. The common ground for each piece is sleek, simple sophistication. And the client is the beneficiary of a culmination of passion and talent.

With designs that rival the world’s finest it’s no wonder that client after client offer rave reviews. Echoing a style that is more of a modern European influence than of the traditional, you would expect to see these pieces in a quaint sidewalk gallery in Paris or London, and yet, they are right here at home! Geometry and symmetry like an orchestra conduct a symphony for the eyes. And like a great masterpiece, each creation by Ultimate Floral climaxes into a magnificent affair of fragrant colors, subtle slender curvatures and sleek modern lines that are this designer’s signature style.

Floral design is an art. It serves as a means of individualizing the unique story of the love you and your partner create together as a couple. When it comes to your commitment, flowers are your open book. Be Bold, Be Daring, Be Unique, Be Efflorescent!
